Supporting Dandelion Time in West Farleigh

Over the last few years, Gardenscape has been pleased to supply and support Dandelion Time at its West Farleigh base. Our materials have been used across the site, helping the charity develop outdoor spaces for growing, learning and time spent in nature.

It was lovely to return recently and see how those spaces have continued to develop.

Supporting the growing garden

Our Premium Topsoil / Peat Free Compost Blend has been used to fill vegetable and herb beds around the farm. The blend created a practical growing space that was already being put to good use during our visit.

Tomatoes and lettuces had been planted in the beds, while rosemary was also beginning to establish. These productive areas give children and families the opportunity to experience growing food and caring for plants in a welcoming outdoor environment.

Creating a new pond area

We also supplied 20mm Sandy Loam Topsoil for work around a new pond and its surrounding planting.

As the pond is located within a sloping field, the topsoil was used to help form a bank and shape the surrounding ground. The area has since become full of life, creating a quieter part of the farm where children and families can observe nature or simply take a moment away from its busier spaces.

Dandelion Time is a Kent-based, nature-based charity that works with children and their wider families. It supports those affected by trauma, abuse or neglect, using its farm environment and practical activities to help families rebuild relationships and create positive memories.

Its West Farleigh site provides a therapeutic setting where families have the time and space to feel safe, develop confidence and begin making lasting changes together.

It was wonderful to see how the materials we supplied have been put to use. Landscaping products are only a small part of the important work taking place at Dandelion Time, but carefully created outdoor spaces can make a meaningful contribution to the environment the charity provides.
