Gardenscape Revisited - Carillon Cottage
Share

We last visited Carillon Cottage (Wadhurst) in June, with a delivery of our Peat Free Planting Compost. This time we supplied 40 litre bags of our Farmyard Manure to give the garden an extra nutrient boost before the winter. We met with director Anne Brignell and garden volunteer, Jaime Grounsell, to see how the garden was getting on as it settles into Autumn.
Jaime started to transform the traditional cottage garden in October 2024, with extensive clearing and re-planting, before contacting us in search of some much-needed soil nourishment. The garden is looking fantastic just one year on, with planting well established thanks to Jaime’s hard work.
The volunteer-led Cottage provides services to the local community such as a driving to hospital appointments, NHS hearing aid support, wheelchair hire, food bank and recycling, Wadhurst Open Gardens and much more. Supporting the whole community, regardless of faith, it is managed and owned by Wadhurst Parish Council.
