  1. TS1 / Manure / Perlite Dry
    TS1 / Manure / Perlite
    From £104.00

A 45:45:10 mix of our premium sandy loam topsoil, well-rotted stable manure and lightweight perlite.  The sandy loam is the free draining body of the mix, the manure adds vital nutrients and the perlite is a lightweight alternative to grit, also helping to cut through heavy soil.

In addition, the lightweight perlite allows water and air to penetrate, enabling the roots to establish deep into the soil.

We source our manure from local stables and it will be either shavings or straw based.  Whilst this is a natural product and therefore consistency will vary, we endeavour to ensure that all Manure delivered to our customers is well rotted.  Please be aware that it may still retain some heat so we recommend that you put the growing media down a few weeks before planting.

If using as a mulch be careful not to allow the manure / mix to touch the stalks of the plant. If you would like a mix that is nutrient rich and can be planted into immediately we recommend our TS1 / Peat Free Planting Compost mixes.

  2. Soft Fruit Mix Dry
    Soft Fruit Mix
    From £112.80

Soft fruit plants are relatively easy to grow. They require sun, shelter and free draining fertile soil.

We blend both fine and coarse peat with pine bark, as well as mixing in a control release fertiliser that will last the growing season. Finally a base fertiliser is added to provide that initial nutrient boost. Plants must still be watered regularly after initial planting and during dry periods, and may benefit from further feeding during the season with something like tomato feed.

NB This mix will suit most soft fruits apart from Blueberries who require a more ericaceous growing media. See our Blueberry Mix.

  3. Blueberry Mix Dry
    Blueberry Mix
    From £120.00

Blueberries prefer a more acidic growing media. We have developed this ericaceous compost specifically for Blueberries. We blend fine and coarse peat with pine bark to create a low pH, free draining growing media. Finally we add a control release fertiliser (which is important where fertigation is not available) as well as a base fertiliser to give an initial nutrient boost.

Blueberries like to be kept in damp (but not soaking wet) compost that is not allowed to dry out. Where you can, water with rainwater as tap water will raise the pH level.
