As the name suggests this fertiliser can be applied in the Autumn and Winter. It is high in the macro-nutrients Phosphorus and Potassium which aid disease resistance and cold hardiness as well as improving drought tolerance.

A multi-purpose organic powder fertiliser. Widely used as a top dressing on lawns, flowers and vegetables. The nutrients in Blood, Fish & Bone are slow release making it an excellent choice when long term feeding is required. It can be dug into soil before planting or mixed in with compost.
5.5:8:6 Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium.Available as 20-kg bag (£20.10 retail).
A traditional source of Nitrogen and Phosphate derived from animal waste, this is a popular versatile organic product for use on bulbs, shrubs, trees and as a dressing on vegetables. The nitrogen becomes available over a week or two of microbial action. An excellent all round garden fertiliser.
4:20:0 Nitrogen, Phosporous and Potassium.Available as 20-kg bag (£25.15 retail).
The most well known general purpose fertiliser on the market. An easy to spread mineral based granular fertiliser that can be applied as a top dressing all around the garden on flowers, fruit & vegetables or under mulches. This is a balanced fertiliser containing equal amounts of the most important plant nutrients; Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium, and can be applied any time during the growing season.
7:7:7 Nitrogen, Phosporous and Potassium.Available as 20-kg bag (£23.60 retail).
This is a popular fertiliser to give your lawn a spring boost.
Its constituent parts are Ammonium Sulphate, Iron Sulphate and sand. This will help to kill existing moss on a lawn as well as many different type of weed while helping your grass to remain green.
4:0:0 + 1% Fe Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium
NB it will not cure a moss problem, for this you require alternative stronger treatments.Available as 20-kg bag (£14.35 retail).
Roses need regular feeding, especially at the beginning of the growing season. When the roses are pruned each year the nutrients required for the blooms are removed permanently from the soil around the plant. This Rose Food is a rich powder mix of minerals and organics which help promote fine blooms and healthy roots.

This fertiliser can be used for all types and sizes of lawn. The high levels of Nitrogen promote spring growth and the Phosphorus and Potassium help aid the uptake of Nitrogen and increase drought resistance. The Iron content will help to keep the moss at bay and the Magnesium Oxide helps maintain the Magnesium levels in the soil which is part of the chlorophyll essential for photosynthesis.
11:5:5 + Fe + MgO Nitrogen, Phosphorus and PotassiumAvailable as 20-kg bag (£29.20 retail).
A 100% soluble fast acting nitrogen fertiliser, ideal for use on plants that are nitrogen deficient. Perfect for green leafed vegetables, and for producing luxuriant foliage on leafy shrubs in particular box hedges which are heavy feeders requiring regular treatment.
21:0:0 Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium.
Can be used every 6 - 8 weeks during the growing season, but do not over apply. Can also be used as a compost activator, as well as straight for crops.Available as 5-kg bag (£12.40 retail).
Iron is a trace element used in many fertilisers, but alone it is mainly used on lawns. It helps with diseases such as fusarium patch and take-all patch, as well as helping with worm control. Its most common use is as a moss killer.
Regular applications every 6 - 8 weeks in the winter months will help stop any moss invading your lawn. It also has the added benefit of burning off certain weeds if used regularly and helps prevent algae problems.Available as 20-kg bag (£30.40 retail).
A soluble fast acting fertiliser which adds essential potassium to soils and composts. Sulphate of Potash helps to improve the quality of fruits and flowers, and strengthens plant resistance to disease and inclement weather.
Symptoms of potash deficiency include poor flowering and fruit sets, as well as leaves turning yellow around the margins which eventually will become brown and burnt. Severe cases show leaf spotting and scorching of foliage.
