Raised Beds
Never has it felt better to feed your family with veg grown in your own back garden. Vegetables, unlike ornamentals, need humous rich, free draining soils. Most of our indigenous back gardens consist of clay soils and the annual digging over / digging in of soil improvers is an arduous process.
The installation of a raised bed in the garden allows you to start with a soil that is workable all year round and produces pencil straight carrots without back ache. And if you organise it such that you do not need to walk on the bed then you can grow the vegetables very intensively and feed your family from a very small patch.
